Jacksonville's Hoffpauir Joins The Cubs

It's a call very few athletes will ever get. But after six seasons in the minor league's the call finally came for Jacksonville's Micah Hoffpauir.

Hoffpauir was in the Chicago Cub's Clubhouse this weekend, after being called up from AAA ball.

This is Micah's first time to play in the big leagues.

During spring games, Micah hit .419 with four homeruns and 10 RBI's.

Micah has typically played first base but will play in the outfield for the Cubs. He replaces Daryle Ward who is on the disabled list.

Micah went to Lon Morris College then Lamar University. He was drafted in the 13th round by the Cubs in 2002.

He is expected to start this week against his home state Houston Astros.
