Tyler firefighters now know what caused an early morning fire at an East Texas business today.
The 2 alarm fire happened shortly after 5:30 am at 'Infinity Tires', at Glenwood and Gentry in Tyler. Eight fire trucks and 22 Tyler Fire Department personnel responded to the fire.
Authorities arrived on the scene to find the building, and the tires it housed, engulfed in flames. Fire investigators say an electrical short in an extension cord connected to a soda machine inside the building caused the fire.
The fire is now out, but firefighters say there was extensive fire, heat, and smoke damage, estimated at around $225,000.
No one was injured.
