Cox Communications Boosting Tyler Economy

A big boost to the Tyler workforce was unveiled Tuesday morning.

The ribbon was cut for Cox Communications' new Customer Care Center on West Loop 323. The 60,000 square foot, $12 million facility will draw 400 new jobs to Tyler over the next five years. Those workers will take care of customers in a six-state region... while helping out the Rose City's economy.

"It makes Tyler grow more as a technology center, this will create 400 new jobs, keeps 179 jobs here that if Cox had chosen another site for this project, they would have left."

Cox has around 500 workers in Tyler already. A job fair is planned for July, but no exact date has been set. Tyler is the headquarters for the company's Middle America region.
