The National Weather Service will be surveying damage in Rusk County tomorrow, after a possible tornado touchdown that tore a roof off a barn, downed trees and power lines, damaged buildings, and destroyed a double-wide mobile home.
The damage happened this morning, about 3 miles from the intersection of Highway 79 south and FM 1798, about 1 mile before FM 839 in Rusk County. Parts of the double wide mobile home were strewn for a half-mile or so, and one end of it wound up in a small private lake. No one was in the home at the time of the destruction, because the homeowner was a on a fishing trip out of town.
Thanks to our reader Stephen Stanfield for the location information.
There are also downed trees and damage along FM 839.
