Transition Underway At Tyler's City Hall

The mayoral transition has officially begun. Mayor Joey Seeber welcomed Mayor-elect Barbara Bass to City Hall on Tuesday.

Bass and Seeber seem to have very similar philosophies for the future of Tyler. Bass will keep the blueprint plans, the Tyler 21 initiative, and the half cent sales tax.

"It's been a privilege to serve as mayor and I am thrilled we have somebody as competent as Barbara Bass...stepping in and moving the city forward in the same direction we have been moving for the past 12 years," said Seeber ,"It is a relief to have someone that is so capable stepping into this office."

"I think overall, [we are] focused on what is best for Tyler and running a good efficient government that is responsive to citizens. We are still focused on what has been the blueprint and half cent sales tax," said Bass.

Wednesday will be Mayor Seeber's last city council meeting. Then, next Wednesday the votes will be canvased, and Mayor-elect Bass will be sworn in.
