Practice Pays Off For Jennings

Practice makes perfect. That's the lesson Bullard's Brian Jennings has learned on the golf course.

"At least five days a week," Jennings said. "I probably put between 10 and 35 hours a week. There's a lot of weeks I'll play a 4 ½ hour round of golf, and then hit balls for an hour and a half, especially in the summertime."

It has paid off, Jennings is one of the top golfers in the country, and this week he'll be competing at the D-III National Championships for UT Tyler.

"There are times when it feels more like a job, but that's usually when you're struggling," Jennings said. "When you're playing well, everything's good with the world."

"It's the thing I enjoy the most, playing golf. You continue to work at it and not put so much pressure on it, and that makes you a better player. You feel less frustration."

As their first ever-national qualifier, Jennings is looking to make an impact, and set an example.

"Next year, we're striving towards being at nationals as a team," Jennings said. "I made it there individually, so I want to be a role model, and know what's going on so I can help the rest of the guys."

When the season is over, he'll go right back onto the links. That's just par for the course for Brian Jennings.
