Proud Of East Texas: Mygnone Boone

At the age of 104, Mygnone Amazon Lenoir Boone is a living history book.  She has experienced and seen things most of us have only read about.  Boone was born before the sinKing of the Titanic, the great flu epidemic, the depression, and two World Wars, and of course way before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, the assassination of President Kennedy and the destruction of the Twin Towers.

Boone lives in Longview with her daughter and son in law Dot and Wayne Legg.  Her French name Mygnone has been passed on to her grandaughter, Carol Mygnone Foley and Carol's daughater, Frances Mygnone Foley, who was born a hundred years after her great grandmother.  There are other great grandchildren in the family named after Mygnone's maiden name off Lenoir and married named of Boone.

Mygnone Boone wrote her autobiography at the age of a hundred.  She says she even may write a sequel to "My Hundred Year Journey" "if anything happens".
