Letourneau Prosthetics Teams On Medical Mission

Local university students are on the way to Africa to help fit amputees with high tech prosthetics. The students, from Letourneau University, will work medical clinics in Bangladesh, Kenya and Sierra Leon.

The program is part of the Letourneau engineering global solutions, or the L-E-G-S project.

"The importance for the students is just for them to be able to use the skills they developed and the passion they have for making an impact on the world, and you combine those two things together to help make a difference for those who are in need around the world" says project leader and Letourneau biomedical engineering professor, Dr. Roger Gonzalez.

The team headed for Sierra Leon will leave next Saturday.
