Almost 500 New Jobs Coming To East Texas

Almost 500 news jobs are coming to East Texas.

Thursday, the Tyler Economic Development Council announced the arrival of a national customer service company called N.E.W. where employees work out of their homes. The company will hire 120 people each year for the next four years, totaling 480 news jobs. Tyler Junior College's West Campus will be home to the company's six-week training program.

"It adds a lot of technology based jobs at a time when people are worried about the job market and we've had a little jump in unemployment after we lost Goodyear, now we've got some new jobs coming in that are technology based and I think it's going to be welcomed news to a lot of people in this area," says Tom Mullins with the Tyler Economic Development Council.

If you're interested in applying, there is a job fair May 13th from 9am to 11am and May 14th from 9am to 6pm at the Workforce Solutions of East Texas in Tyler. And there is another job fair May14th in Jacksonville at the Norman Activity Center from 4pm to 7pm.
