Recovery Struggles In Myanmar As Relief Efforts Stalled By Government

There is little food, water, and shelter for the victims of cyclone Nargis, and Myanmar's humanitarian crisis is growing each day.

Countries around the world have offered relief and supplies to the country also known as Burma, but the aid is slow in trickling into the nation as the military-run government is delaying attempts by international aid workers to enter the country.

Myanmar suffered widespread destruction to its infrastructure following Saturday's cyclone, which packed winds of up to 150 miles an hour.

The storm severely damaged much of the country's communication and accessibility.

The US has pledged more than three million dollars and offered to send Navy ships to the region if the government will agree.

Even if Myanmar approves the aid worker's visas, the next challenge for aid workers will be delivering supplies to many of the hard to reach, damaged areas.
