Howard Admits To Marijuana Use on Dallas Radio

The Dallas Mavericks made positive headlines Friday night with their 97-87 win over New Orleans to make it a 2-1 series.

Still, the negative headlines loomed over the American Airlines Center at tip-off.

Forward Josh Howard publicly admitted to using marijuana on a Dallas Radio station, hours before the big game.

Howard's admission came on The Michael Irvin Show on ESPN 103.3.

The Maverick said he used the drug in the off season.

"Once it affects you and you realize it, you should take care of it," Howard said. "What I was stating was just out of a random question he asked me about the marijuana use. I just let them know that most of the players in the league do use marijuana and I have and do partake in smoking weed in the off season some times. That's my personal choice and my personal opinion. But, I don't think that's stopping me from doing my job."

Howard's admission could result in punishment from the NBA.
