Eyewitness Account Of Miranda Lambert Alleged Assault

A follow-up on the Miranda Lambert alleged assault case. While the Smith County Sheriff's Department continues its investigation, we spoke exclusively to an eyewitness. KLTV 7's Courtney Lane spoke to a bartender from "Bootleggers" who said she saw everything that happened Saturday night.

April Lewis was bartending the night Miranda Lambert was at Bootleggers. It was supposed to be a low-key outing for the singer, supporting a friend's CD release. But when Aisha Esbay filed an assault report Tuesday, Lambert became the center of national, negative attention. Attention that Lewis said should never have happened.

"I don't know what she's trying to get out of it, maybe her feelings are hurt," said Lewis.

On Wednesday, Esbay told us Lambert pushed her twice and verbally assaulted her.

"She said 'You need to get the F*** out of here and so when she shoved me again I kind of fell into a barstool," said Esbay.

But Lewis said that's not all true. She did confirm that Esbay got irritated when the singer wouldn't take a picture with her right away.

"There was supposed to be no cameras allowed actually," said Lewis.

But she said it was Esbay who went too far.

"Aisha kind of got up like real huffy and walked around," said Lewis.  "She pushed her way through the VIP section and kind of pushed people out of the way and got in Miranda's face and was like 'You shouldn't be so rude to your fans.'"

As for Lamberts response?

"Miranda was pointing at her and stuff," said Lewis. "She might have been a little ugly but as far as pushing her and putting her hands on her, that never happened."

So according to Lewis, the singer never physically assaulted Esbay. She has told her story to the Smith County Sheriff's Department, who is continuing their investigation.
