An East Texas community honored and remembered a teenage boy Friday, whose life was taken just days ago after burning most of his body in an accidental fire.
Dozens of people turned out to donate blood in front of White Oak City Hall in memory of 16 year old Cody James.
Cody died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital as the result of burns over 60 percent of his body. Many people who knew Cody and many who didn't, came to the blood drive to pay their respects by giving the gift of life.
A car wash fundraiser to help the James family with medical bills is also going to be held on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in front of the City Hall Building.
