Walls Gives Message of Sacrifice At FCA Banquet

Everson Walls was a star at cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys.

But it seems since his retirement his star has risen higher. Known for his generosity off the field, Everson was the keynote speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet in Tyler Monday night.

In 2007, Everson donated one of his kidneys to friend and former Cowboy teammate Ron Springs. Everson has now become a champion of organ donation.

He had a special message of encouragement for Christian athletes.

'Whatever road you chose, if you want to be successful at it you have to sacrifice," Everson said. "That's what I tried to do with Ron and I've tried to do that throughout my life in some way, realizing that was the only you're going to get where you need to be. Whether it's successfully or spiritually or whatever the case may be."

Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

The last time we talked about the Kilgore Bulldogs, quarterback Buddy Jackson and wide receiver Jonathan Shepherd were apart of the 800-meter relay team that won gold at the 2017 state track meet. But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs. However, in order to surpass their opponents this season, including Carthag...More >>
