For fishermen, this weekend's Toyota Texas Bass Classic was a major event.
After two days, Mineola's Kelly Jordon's team was atop the leaderboard with 31 fish weighing 122 pounds.
Meanwhile, families came out by the thousands at Lake Fork to follow their favorite fishermen from the giant leaderboard on stage. The fans could check out the action from the lake on the leaderboard, while the kids could have fun fishing in one of the stocked pools. For the kids especially, the pro anglers were impressive.
"You get to go out and just have fun," ten-year old Mineola fisherman Matthew Smith explained, "be out there riding in a boat getting wet, and catching some humungous fish."
Lindale fisherman Jeremy Taylor brough his whole family back this year. "You can come out here and spend a whole day and never even look at the tournament. We've been out at the Family Fun Zone."
"We've been looking forward to it since last year."
The finals are tomorrow. Updated leaderboards can be found at http://www.toyotatexasbassclassic.com.
