UPDATE: Elderly Couple Found Dead Inside Their Home

An East Texas elderly couple was found dead inside their home, Saturday in what authorities are calling a double homicide.  The Gregg County Sheriff's Office says they were called out to the home on North Tryon Road around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.  The sheriff's office says family members of the couple found the bodies of 83-year-old's Bennie Neil and June Killingsworth and then called authorities.

Sheriff's investigators and Texas Rangers went to the scene, Saturday and began an investigation.  Authorities say they were out there for several hours collecting evidence.  Authorities believe the couple was killed late Friday and say they have learned the couple's truck was stolen.  Longview police located the truck parked behind a business in the 4100 Block of West Marshall Avenue Saturday afternoon.

The couple is being sent to the Dallas Medical Examiners Office, Sunday for an autopsy.  Investigators say this is a very complex investigation.

"We are not releasing specifics of the investigation until we receive preliminary results for the crime scene, truck and the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office," said Gregg County Sheriff's Lieutenant Mike Claxton.  We will continue to update you on this story on kltv. com, or tune in to KLTV 7 News at Ten for the latest.
