Cornyn Announces $2.4 Million Grant For Airport Improvements In Tyler

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn announced Tuesday that the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport will receive a $2,402,706 federal grant for infrastructure and safety improvements. The funding comes through the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

"These funds will be used to address needed maintenance and safety improvements for the Tyler Pounds Regional Airport," Sen. Cornyn said. "In addition, quality transportation services are important for boosting local economic growth. I commend the area leaders who worked to secure this funding."

The funds, distributed through DOT's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will be used for runway safety improvements, construction of a perimeter road and removal of obstruction from runway visual zone.
