Marshall Home to NWFA Team Starting in 2009

The National Women's Football Association has announced that Marshall, Texas will be fielding a women's football team for the 2009 season. The new team will be operated by Kirkland Trammer of Trammer Sports. Trammer has extensive credentials in football and will be hosting tryouts soon to get his team started.

Trammer feels it is a great opportunity to showcase the talents of the women athletes in his area and the love of football in Texas. Women have already been contacting the national office for information on tryouts. Trammer hopes to have a team up and running soon so that they can play some exhibition games during this year.

The new team is named the East Texas Saberkats. Information on tryouts will be announced soon. For additional information on the Saberkats, please email ktrammersports@yahoo.com or call (979) 204-3916.

The NWFA is kicking off its 8th season Saturday, April 19th with 35 teams competing from coast to coast.
