UT Tyler Cross Country Running All Weekend For Charity

This weekend, the UT Tyler Cross Country and Track teams were getting in their workouts, and also raising money for charity.

The teams ran on a treadmill outside of Racquet and Jog for thirty-three consecutive hours, taking shifts all night. The team also collected money from customers, passers-by, and people stopping at a nearby intersection.

The team raised more than $1400, which goes to support the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.

"We're trying to see how far we can go," runner Warren Brown said. "It's fun, it's kind of a competition to let us get some practice in before the conference meet in a few weeks."

"It feels like we've been blessed to use this for a good cause as well as for our own benefit."
