Longview Burglary Suspect Taken Into Custody

At approximately 5:14 am, April 8, 2008, Longview Police responded to 701 Gilmer Road #304 in reference to a burglary that had just occurred.

The victim told officers he had awaken to find the suspect standing in his bedroom.  He described him as a white male wearing boxers or shorts and no shirt.  He further told officers that his television, DVD/VCR, and cell phone were missing.

While on the scene, another officer observed a subject matching the description given by the victim walking across the apartment complex.  He was detained and identified as Michael Loyd Ramey, 25, of Longview.

Ramey was mirandized due to the fact that he matched the suspect's description and he confessed that he was the one that had broken into the apartment and showed officers where the property was hidden.

Ramey was taken to the Gregg County Jail and charged with Burglary of a Habitation (2nd Degree Felony).  His bond has not yet been set.
