Dan Stroud and Don Pinkerton had been best friends since Boulter Junior High. After marriage, the two men and their wives even vacationed together and Stroud and Pinkerton hunted and played golf together often.
So, when Pinkerton died suddenly in 2005 during a golf tournament weekend, Stroud thought the perfecr memorial for Pinkerton would be a golf tournament in his name with the proceeds going to chairty. This is the third year for "The Don Pinkerton memorial Golf Tournament" at Hollytree Country Club. The two preceeding years raised close to $70,000 for charity and this year's proceeds will go to the Salvation Army of East Texas.
The tournament is scheduled for Monday morning, April 14th at Hollytree Country Club.
