East Texas Soldier Surprises Little Brother

After eight months of separation, 8-year-old Blake Kirkpatrick is finally back in the arms of his big brother, Army Specialist Jonathan Kirkpatrick.

Jonathon has been serving in Iraq and decided to surprise Blake at his school, Pittsburg Elementary. Having spent so much time apart, the reunion of brothers means more to each of them than anything.

"Every time I called Blake when I was gone, if he didn't get to talk to me he would cry," said Specialist Kirkpatrick.

"It feels like I've been away from him for one hundred years. I'm so proud of him because he's in the Army and he's saving us from all the bad people," said Blake Kirkpatrick.

Blake isn't the only one proud of his brother. In fact, Blake's entire school lined the hallways with flags, cards, and welcome home signs to show thanks to Army Specialist Kirkpatrick.

"It's great that the teachers had the kids do this because most kids don't realize what's going on in the war. It was great. It made me feel really good, I didn't expect it at all."

Two unexpected surprises for two happily deserving brothers.
