Harrington Pitches Second Career Perfect Game

Most pitchers are lucky to have a perfect game once in their career.

UT Tyler's Kelsey Harrington is not lucky. She's got skill and for that reason  Kelsey picked up the second perfect game of her career Monday night.

It came in a 8-0 shutout of LeTourneau. A perfect game means no walks, no hits, no wild pitches.

Kelsey's achievement was the first in Patriot softball history. Kelsey had her first perfect game as a sophomore at Texas High.

Anyone who loves softball or baseball knows the superstition, you don't talk about a perfect game, during the game. Monday night, the Patriots were no different.

"I was very much aware of it going into the fifth knowing that I just had three more outs to go," Kelsey said. "It was kind of one of those things that everybody in the dugout knew it was coming. Everybody on the field knew, but nobody wanted to say anything."

"Even our trainer she kind of walked up and was like am I supposed to say anything. It was just kind of one of those things that you know you don't talk about but everybody knows what's going on."

Kelsey and the top ranked Patriots take on second ranked Louisiana College tomorrow.
