East Texas Soldier Gets A Bit Of Celebrity Treatment

An East Texas Soldier was welcomed home, Sunday and even received a little celebrity treatment.  Amid friends and hugs, US Army Sergeant Jeff Holland was welcomed back to Tyler, Sunday afternoon.  Holland served two tours in Iraq, his most recent was for 15 months, but even a 15 minute brush with fame, sharing a plane ride with country music star, Neal McCoy, couldn't take this soldier's mind off of what was most important.

"It's good to be home, great friends and great family," said Holland.  "That's the biggest thing that you miss when you're over there.  Day in and day out you see the stuff, and you get back home and realize what you're doing and why you're doing it."

"We're just proud of our soldiers," said McCoy who has performed at numerous USO shows in Iraq.  "We appreciate them.  We go over and make sure we let them know and [take] a part of home."  Holland was recently accepted into the Rangers, a branch of the Army's special forces.  He leaves for training next month.
