Masons Honor Peace Officers

If you want to bury a time capsule in concrete and brick, you'll need to find a mason. Or better yet a group of masons.

That's what happened at the Smith County Peace Officer's Association Luncheon Wednesday in Tyler. The local Masons Lodge presented the officers with a plaque in honor of those who died before, on, and after 9-11.

The Masons also passed around two time capsules. Both capsules were then sealed in a wall behind the plaque. There is no specific time when the capsule is supposed to be opened. Bill McGinnis, with the Masons, says when the building is eventually torn down in the distant future, someone will find the bags.
