Bald Heads For A Good Cause

There were more than enough shaved heads to go around in Gladewater, Saturday, but they were for a good cause.  It was the first annual Saint Baldricks Brave The Shave event at First Methodist Church in Gladewater.  The extreme haircuts were an effort to raise awareness, and money for pediatric cancer research.  Hair was also donated to Locks of Love.  For those involved, it was a loss they gladly endured.

"The gimmick behind Saint Baldricks is to brave the shave and to let children know that they aren't alone in going through some of the side effects of the chemo and radiation, which causes them to lose their hair," said event organizer Ashley Hast.

"Well, I felt it was a worthy cause to support the children and people that have this problem and things and just trying to help," said event participate John Worden.  More than 40 people shaved their head today for the Saint Baldricks Foundation.
