Longview City Council Could Extend Agreement To Neiman Marcus

Tonight, the Longview city council could make a decision on whether to extend Neiman Marcus's industrial agreement up to ten years.

City officials say that initial agreement meant Neiman Marcus didn't have to pay taxes and was offered to the company as an incentive, to get them to come to Longview.

"If the agreement is approved by the representatives of Neiman Marcus and the city of Longview there would be some additional revenue to the city," said Chuck Ewings, Assistant City Manager.

City officials say if approved, the agreement would allow Neiman Marcus to make annual payments for city services in lieu of being annexed and paying taxes.
