A small section of F.M. 16 is back open today after a trailer full of water bottles labels is completely engulfed by fire this morning.
The call pn the fire came in around seven a.m. this morning on FM 16, about one mile east of FM 14.
The suspension blew on the trailer, causing a collapse in tire pressure.
The tires quickly caught fire and a diesel leak fueled the flames.
The truck's load eventually caught on fire as well, and a passerby called the fire in to authorities. Red Springs and Winona Fire Departments responded, and they were able to protect a local water department building from catching on fire.
Clean up took all morning and into the afternoon, but the road is now back open to traffic.
