Apaches Sign First Player For Women's Soccer

The Tyler Junior College will have a women's soccer team for the first time in the school's history beginning this fall and Tuesday the very first signee joined the new team.

Kayla Mason of Whitehouse became the first Apache women's soccer player to sign a national letter of intent. Kayla said she takes pride in being the first.

"I chose TJC because it's a new program and it's so fun to be a part of something new," Kayla said. "It's crazy and so exciting. I'm just happy to be a part of such a great program."

TJC will host open tryouts for the women's soccer team Saturday, March 29 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Pat Hartley Field.
