Woman Leads Police On High Speed Chase

Marilyn Juarez, 31,  of Garland was arrested, Monday.  She is now charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, evading arrest, and unauthorized use of a stolen vehicle.

Initial reports came from outside of Terrell.  Juarez was seen weaving in and out of traffic along I-20.  She finally ran out of gas near the Gregg County line, but not before hitting other cars and nearly side-swiping the officers in pursuit.

"I know that she did strike a Lexus on the interstate during the pursuit," said Sgt. Gary Middleton with the Smith County Sheriff's Department.  "We also know that she had struck a gravel truck.  That might have happened before she got into Smith County.  I know there was quite a bit of damage on the front side of the pickup, with a brick actually stuck in the fender."

Middleton said Juarez told them she was on her way to El Paso.
