Longview Setting Up Pickup For Storm Damage; Says Travel Through City May Be Slowed

The storms that passed through the city of Longview on Tuesday night, March 18th, caused damage in several areas of the city, primarily east of Fourth Street and south of Cotton. As a result, there are numerous trees down as well as tops being twisted out of some.  Debris management for the city is instructing anyone that has debris from trees to call 903.237.1250 and ask for bulky item pickup.

This pickup is limited to loads of manageable sizes and does not include any building materials such as roofing material, insulation, lumber, etc.

Over the next several days, the city of Longview will be assisting the citizens in picking up these bulky items with the primary focus on the east and south sides of the city.

Anyone that has the means to transport their own debris is asked to do so.  The debris can be taken to the City's compost site located at 280 Hearne Road.  Follow the signs from Loop 281.

The City of Longview has also asked us to let you know that crews are working as fast as possible in Longview to clear downed trees and power lines, but travel through the city and area may be somewhat slow this morning. Please be patient. The City is working to take care of these problems this morning.
