Ozone Levels Up

It is the time of year for lazy, hazy days... some hazier than others.

Ozone is back as summer approaches. And the people most affected are those who spend a lot of time outdoors, especially exercising.  Ozone and other pollutants can narrow and irritate the lining of the lungs, making it harder to breathe.

On days when there's a lot of pollution, there are some people who shouldn't venture outside at all.

"[People with] asthma or obstructive lung disease or emphysema who already have inflamed or irritated airways, they are particularily susceptible to the irritation effects of ozone."

Tips to reduce ozone:

1. Drive your car in the evening hours... take the bus or ride a bike during the daytime.

2. Fill up your gas tank in the evening hours.

3. Mow your lawn in the evening also.
