Two Kilgore women are charged with felony theft after scamming nearly 56 thousand dollars from a Longview hotel over a 2 year period. Longview police say the pair were former employees of the Best Western on High Street and were able to take the money from the hotel--entering it in computer records as refunds to customers. 30 year old Kathryn Andrews and 24 year old Kristyna Gardner were arrested after a hotel auditor found the missing funds and made the connection to them. Investigators say this kind of crime isn't unusual, but the amount allegedly stolen makes it one of the largest they've seen. Both women were working for other businesses when the discovery of the missing funds was made. If convicted they could face a maximum of 10 years in prison.
