Alzheimer's Day Care Field Trip

Wednesday morning the Caldwell Zoo offered up more than just entertainment, it served as therapy.

Alzheimer's patients from Tyler's Alzheimer's Day Care took a trip to the zoo. They got to handle exotic animals like hissing cockroaches, African hedgehogs, and a boa constrictor. The visit to the zoo gave the patients a break from their daily routine.

Darby Brady has been the Director for the day care for the last two years.  "I think they're getting a lot of stimulation being able to walk around, to see the animals, to be out and feel like they are in an environment that normally they couldn't be in."

The Day Club meets every Wednesday at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ in Tyler.
