Longview Police To Host Hispanic Police Services Academy

The Longview Police Department will be hosting the second annual Hispanic Police Services Academy beginning  April 1, 2008.  The purpose of the Academy is to familiarize the Hispanic community with the operations of the police department.  This includes classes on patrol procedures, criminal law, narcotics, search and seizure, sex offender registration, identity theft, traffic enforcement and other classes specific to the Hispanic community.

All classes will be conducted in Spanish by Longview Police Officers and other members from the community.  The class is open to the public and is cost free and daycare will be provided.

Classes will be conducted at the Iglesia Bautista Brazos de Amor (Hope Baptist Church) located at 1105 Lake Drive on Tuesday and Thursday nights and will last approximately two hours.  Classes will begin at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, April 1, 2008 and will conclude on Thursday, April 29, 2008.  Class size will be limited to thirty (30) students.
