Firefighters Put Out First Summer Grass Fire

An out-of-control brush fire in Gresham crossed three property lines before volunteer firefighters extinguished the flames. The fire began inside a residential area on County Road 164 around 11:30 a.m.

Gresham and Flint volunteer firefighters managed to save four homes surrounding the property. They say this morning's brush fire was unattended when it started spreading.

Firefighters say it's expected this summer will be extremely dry, which will increase the risk of grass fires.
