Family With Several Small Children Left Homeless After Fire Guts Their Mobile Home

A family with several small children are without a home or any belongings, after a fire ripped through their mobile home. It happened just before 5:00 Wednesday morning on FM 2767, just east of County Road 387.

Among those home at the time were a nine-month old baby, as well as a five, six and a ten-year old. Fortunately everyone made it out safely, but the family said everything was lost, even their pet dog.

"All we know now is we're homeless," said Dorothy Wilson.  "We have nothing, everything was in the fire. We have four babies and three grand babies and that's not counting me and my husband. We're just trying to figure out what to do. If someone out there can help us we'd really appreciate it."

The cause of the fire is under investigation. If you would like to help the Wilson family, call the Smith County Red Cross.
