Tyler Man Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter

A Tyler man pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the fatal shooting of his common law wife.

Wardell Moore Jr. came to a plea agreement for shooting and killing 33-year-old Tina Hawkins in September of 2001.

The Smith County District Attorney's office says official sentencing is scheduled for June 17th.

Moore is expected to get 20 years in prison for manslaughter and five more stacked on that for posession of a prohibited weapon.
