Martin's Mill To Play For State Title

The Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs are set to play for their second state title in just three years.

Taylor Daniel scored 29 points as Martin's Mill rolled over Lindsay 76-45 in the Class 1A Division I State Semifinals.

Last season in the semifinals, Lindsay knocked Martin's Mill from contention with a 62-60 victory in overtime. Martin's Mill lead Thursday's game 35-14 at halftime.

Future Texas Tech Red Raider Jordan Barncastle, scored 26 points and had nine rebounds.

KLTV 7 Sports spoke to Lady Mustang head coach Doug Barncastle by phone from Austin.

"It feels awesome. It's not an everyday thing that someone goes and gets to play in the state championship game. We've got a different mentality this year as far as hopefully winning it all."

Top ranked Martin's Mill will play second ranked Sudan for the state championship, Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
