Suspect Arrested After Mugging Man

Early Tuesday morning, Longview Police apprehended a man who attacked another man while he was pumping gas and stole the man's wallet.

The suspect approached the victim and asked for money and a ride. After the victim refused, the suspect jumped on him from behind and began to assault him. At one point, a knife was involved in the threats made to the victim.

The suspect fled to a wooded area, where officers chased after him and eventually caught him. The suspect still had the victim's wallet on his person.

The suspect is identified by Longview Police as Joe Dale Williams, 31, of Longview. He was charged with Aggravated Robbery in the first degree. His bond is set at $100,000.
