Update: Missing Man's Credit Card Used, 'Critical' Search Continues

Tyler Police are still searching for an elderly man reported missing late Tuesday night, and police have learned that the missing man's credit card was used early this morning in Elkhart, Texas.

Police are describing the search for him as 'critical' in importance.

Officers are looking for Marion Runnels Carruthers, 79, who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's Disease. Around 2:30 am last night, Mr. Carruthers' credit card was used at Kim's Convenience Store on Hway 287 in Elkhart.

Tyler Police Sergeant Blake Lockhard said in a press release Carruthers was last seen around 7p.m. near 700 Rhodes with his Yorkshire Terrior dog.

Carruthers is described as a white male, 5'9'', 178 lbs. blonde hair and blue eyes. Police say he was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue jeans. Carruthers was driving a 2002 blue Dodge Caravan with TX License Plate R-4-8 J-M-V.
