Tyler residents will be able to decide in May on the fate of the Unicard.
The City of Tyler today decided to allow Tyler residents to vote on whether or not they think club memberships should be required before allowing an of-age person to drink in Tyler resturants.
Resturant owners argue that they lose money because of all the red tape involved in both IDing drinkers and requiring a club membership. They argue that only making customers show ID is sufficient, and will eliminate costs and confusion for both the resturant owner and the customer.
The issue will be on the May ballot.
