Update: Names Released In Tyler Murder-Suicide

Update: Tyler police tell KLTV 7 News that the couple's names were Charles and Lillian Campbell, who were 84 and 75 respectively. Investigators determined that the couple were in very bad health and that the husband had taken his wife's life and then his own. An autopsy has been ordered.

A note was also discovered saying that they had both agreed to end their lives and suffering, which was signed by the deceased.

Two bodies were discovered today in Tyler in the 3200 block of Keaton Street near Andy Woods Elementary School. Details are still sketchy, but the couple found was in their late 70s to early 80s. Their daughter had not seen them recently, and when she couldn't reach them by telephone, she went to their residence. Their daughter then located them in the backyard, dead, in what investigators are now calling a murder-suicide.

A neighbor, Marilyn Williams, had this to say about the couple: "They are sorely missed. Great folks - he was a nice gentlemen; she was a lovely lady. We had a lot of fun with them. This block had lots of get togethers when we were younger, block parties and such. We're all going to miss them."

More details will be available on KLTV 7 News at 5, 6, and 10pm.
