East Texas Soldier Returns Home To A Warm Welcome

For Ruth, Perry, and Jason Hays, it's a day they've been waiting for with anticipation.

"It's been 11 months since we've seen him, we've talked to him on the phone and via e-mail but it's been a long 11 months," said Specialist Hays mother, Ruth Hays.

After countless days and worrisome nights, Ruth's soldier son and Jason's big brother is finally coming home.

"We're going to give him a big hug! I guarantee you that. It's been a long time. We've never been away from Chris that long so, we're real excited he's coming home," said Specialist Hays father, Perry Hays.

Finally, the wait is over as Specialist Hays' plane pulls into the airport gate.

"My heart is just a racing," said  Ruth Hays. With a glimpse of Specialist Hays getting off the plane, his family couldn't be happier."Oh there he is yes. That's him! Oh, he looks so good," said Hays.

For Specialist Hays, he says being a soldier isn't all that bad and it's his main goal that keeps him going. "I'm just trying to find the bad guys and get rid of them. My unit in my platoon took out  the top six bad guy in the area," said Specialist Hays.

With his soldier drive, it's no doubt that Specialist Hays is proud to serve our country and will never forget his memorable homecoming.  "It was definitely awesome! It's great to be home," said Specialist Hays.
