Plane Crashes in Lake Palestine

A water aircraft crashed in Lake Palestine during take-off Sunday.

Witnesses say a gust of wind caused the plane's wing to tilt and crash into a wave. The plane then spun out of control.

The aircraft's pilot and his female passenger escaped with little injury. The pilot did sustain minor injuries when his head hit a side window upon impact.

KLTV's Barry Hanson was fishing on lake Palestine at the time, and towed the sinking aircraft back to shore. The plane was removed from Lake Palestine and taken to a small airport.
