You've seen the "Vow" commercials right here on KLTV 7. So, what is Vow and how does it make these couples so happy? We asked Vow directors and married couple. Justin and Tonya Wait.
"It's educating couples on skills to help them enrich their marriage no matter where they are in their relationship. The sessions score their relationships, their compatibility, their strengths and weaknesses,"said Vow co-director, Tonya Wait.
"If a couples is old enough to be dating, we can bring them in the program," said Vow co-director, Justin Wait. One of Vow's couples is Gladys Euceda and Jeff Waite. They have been in the program for a week and anxiously await their March wedding. "I'm really glad it's coming because it's three weeks away and if it weren't I probably would be freaking out," said Euceda.
In their sessions, Gladys and Jeff meet with a healthy marriage coordinator who goes over several areas dealing with their relationships.
"We just want to make sure that there's nothing that we haven't thought of and discover that we want different things,"said Waite. However not every couple is like Gladys and Jeff, heading off problems before they begin.
Vow says they get couples who are trying to keep from separating."We have couples that come and say,"we're just going to go to Vow to see if they can pull us back together. We don't want people to think that we're a magic pill because we're no," said Wait.
Vow has over 200 couples enrolled in their program and has offices in Gregg, Smith, Harrison, Rusk, and Upshur Counties.
