Boys at Griffin Elementary School say "Thank You" to some distinguished gentlemen who've changed their lives.
It's part of a mentoring program called "Boys to Men" where male community leaders teach boys how to follow the right path in life. Mentors like Tyler Police Chief Gary Swindle, and various city leaders were honored for serving as mentors.
Channel 7's own Michael Coleman got a gold cup for his work as a mentor. The Tyler Fire Department and Sheriff's department were also involved.
The Tyler Organization of Men helps sponsor the "Boys to Men" Mentoring Program. 30 boys were involved this year.
The program will resume when classes start up again next school year.
