East Texas Pastor, Daughter Killed In Head On Collision

A head on collision shortly before 5:00 pm Wednesday has claimed the lives of an area pastor and one of his children, and two other family members are hospitalized in critical and serious condition today.

DPS reports 34 year old Shane Morgan of Chandler and 12 year old Kalee Elizabeth Morgan were killed in the accident.

4 year old Emily Morgan is listed in critical condition at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. 34 year old Lisa Morgan is listed in serious condition at Trinity Mother Frances  in Tyler.

DPS says Morgan's car was hit head on by a car driven by 31 year old Jose Louis Miramontes Jr. of Kemp. Miramontes , a member of the US Navy, was passing another vechile when he collided with Morgan's car. The fatal wreck occurred on FM 317, 18 miles south of Brownsboro in Henderson County. Miramontes is hospitalized in serious condition at ETMC, in Tyler.

Shane Morgan was the pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Berryville.

All the people involved were wearing seat belts, according to DPS.

There has been an account set up for donations at the First State Bank of Frankston for the Morgan family.
