Longview Inspectors Find Problems at Several Restaurants

Although it was a good inspection period for the Longview Health Department, five area restaurants still had some serious violations including Sonny's Chicago Dogs and More at 1905 North Loop 281.

Inspected on May 8th, hot and cold foods were held at improper temperatures, cross contamination of raw and cooked foods and hygenic violations among employees. They were given a score of D.

Chen's Garden at 1021 McCann Road was inspected on April 11th and again on May 6th but was found to eight violations in each visit. Hot and cold foods at improper temperatures and inadequate handwash facilities... in both inspections they scored a C.

Seven violations were found in an April 24th inspection of the China Pearl Restaurant at 2511 judson road. Hygenic violations were found among employees, and food contact surfaces were unsanitary... Score: C.

Dairy Queen of East Texas at 3815 West Marsahll Avenue was inspected on April 19th and had eight violations... including cold foods at unsafe temperatures and uncleaned work spaces. They scored a C.

And inspected on May 7th, Popeye's at 2110 Gilmer Road had five violations, including improper cooling of cooked and prepared foods... and unsanitary food contact surfaces... Score a B.
