Arrest Made In Meth Lab Bust

Yesterday at around 4:30 p.m. the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office arrested Larry Dewayne Lewis, 36, at his residence located in the Hickory Hills Subdivision.

Lewis had several outstanding warrants including a Felony warrant out of Wood County for Methamphetamines. Narcotics Investigators obtained a search warrant from Judge Teresa Drum from the 294th District to obtain entry into the residence.

Once inside the residence, a meth lab to produce narcotics was found by Van Zandt County Narcotics investigators.  Lewis was transported to the Van Zandt County Detention Facility where he was booked in.  Lewis was booked in on the following charges: Manufacturing and Delivering of a Controlled Substance, bond was set at $150,000.00 w/Conditions.  Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, bond was set at $25,000.00 w/Conditions for one and the other at $15,000.00 (Wood County).   Bail Jumping/Failure to Appear, bond was set at $20,000.00 (Wood County).  Three (3) counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury/Family Violence and bond was set at $7,000.00 w/Conditions, $1,500.00 (Wood County) and $2,500.00 (Wood County).

Henderson County Narcotics Investigators assisted in the disposal of the lab chemicals found in the residence.
